We are gathered here today to make a statement... to cross the barriers of nations and culture and come together as the people who will save our world. Of all the wars Man has faced before, none is as critical as the one we are forced with today. The world is changing fast. Mountains once covered with beautiful white snow are melting, leaving nothing but dried up, piles of dirt. The ice cap is rapidly disappearing along with the polar bears habitat and their lives. While this is happening, the water levels rise and the millions of people living in the coast area are in danger and becoming homeless.
We cannot remain apathetic towards this issue. It´s no longer a science fiction movie or a very bad unreal prediction. It´s real. Man has mindlessly used all the Earth´s resources for himself and in a world of selfishness and greed like ours we have put future children´s lives in danger. We didn´t listen before because we could not see it. Well, saw what happened in New Orleans. I saw the thousands of people struggling to survive, their homes wrecked and their lives destroyed. It´s right in front of us now, and we cannot ignore it. It´s not an easy task, we are faced with obstacles. The greed of oil companies keeps us from moving forward and the corruption of politicians stop our efforts to save our beautiful planet.
There is only one solution. We must unite the nations of this world, tell every person that it´s in their hands to save our home the Earth from this disaster. All the conflicts and anguishes between religions and cultures, sexes and ages we must now surpass. Only then will we have the power and strength to save the Earth from a disaster and ourselves from a dark future.
Remember, it´s up to each one of us to save the world!
